Before the war, the Metropolitan line running from Baker Street out into London’s suburbs was equipped with Pullman restaurant cars. It was possible to catch the train with a first class ticket and eat a meal on the way home (there was an extra post-theatre service for hungry people returning home after watching a play in the capital). Emma combined this antiquated idea with her interests in tea ceremony from a visit to Japan, and recruited a tea expert (Natasha Vicars) to train her in tea etiquette from Edwardian England live on the London Underground.
